Jackie’s awards joy

A Sanctuary Care home manager in Cheshire is over the moon after being shortlisted for a Great British Care Award.
Jackie Walker, manager of Barony Lodge Residential Care Home in Nantwich, has got through to the North West regional finals of the national awards in The Care Home Registered Manager category.
Shocked but delighted
Following the surprise nomination by her team, she said: “I was so shocked – it has finally sunk in and I feel very proud, because it shows how valued I am by my team at Barony Lodge.”
Comments in her nomination include how Jackie is “always going above and beyond and is always there for her residents and the staff - nothing is too much trouble.
It continued: “She always has the best interests of the residents at the forefront of all the decision she makes.”
Jackie and her team at Barony Lodge are still welcoming new residents to the home. For details call 0800 917 0478 or email care.hub@Sanctuary-housing.co.uk
Jackie, who has over 30 years’ experience in care, will have a ‘virtual’ interview with the awards judges, before she goes head to head with the other finalists at an ceremony in April.
If she wins she will go through the national finals of the Great British Care Awards later next year.
