Daring Dave’s skydive fundraiser

Dave Williams, who is doing a sky dive for an Alzheimer's charity, inspired by wife, who is a resident at Watlington & District Nursing Home, our care home in Watlington, Oxfordshire

The devoted husband of a Sanctuary Care resident in Watlington will be flying high when he jumps out of a plane at 13,000 feet to support a charity close to his heart.

Dave Williams will do a tandem sky dive on Tuesday 4 April to raise funds for Alzheimer’s Dementia Support, inspired by his wife Susan, who lives at Watlington & District Nursing Home in Watlington.

Sue was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in her 50s, with Dave caring for her for several years at home before she moved to Watlington over a year ago.

Speaking about his daring challenge, which will take place from Hinton Airfield, he said: “I have never done anything like this for charity. Because this is so personal, I thought if I am going to do something pretty extreme, let's try and do it for a really worthy cause, and one which isn’t in the spotlight quite as much as it should be compared with other charities.”

Speaking about the care home, Dave added: “The whole team are just fantastic – very attentive and very engaging and when I visit, I take our border collie Jess to see some of the other residents too.”

To support Dave please visit David Williams is fundraising for Alzheimers Dementia Support (justgiving.com) - his page has even been endorsed by Alan Cassidy, four times British National Aerobatic Champion, with whom Dave has flown with before.
