Heathlands' glowing CQC report!

A group of people pose indoors with gold balloons spelling "GOOD"; some are kneeling, others standing, in a bright room with a window and TV.

Our team at Heathlands Residential Care Home in Pershore are celebrating an impressive Care Quality Commission inspection (CQC) report.

Our home was again graded as ‘good’ across five quality indicators. These being safety, effectiveness, care, responsiveness and leadership.

In the new inspection, the CQC praised the home for creating a safe, comfortable atmosphere, highlighting that the provider had a “proactive and positive culture of safety, based on openness and honesty”.

Furthermore, the home’s carers were commended; “they treated [residents] as individuals”. A comment from one relative read: “I know that when I’m not here, I can relax knowing that everything is being taken care of. Everyone is so welcoming and fun, and my relative is having the best care.

The team was also praised for helping residents retain independence, taking account of their “strengths, abilities, aspirations, culture and unique backgrounds.”

Amongst the standout features observed in the inspection was the collaboration across staff, teams and services. One healthcare professional commented: “Staff are very pleasant to work with and very hard working”.

The quality of care was also commended by the inspectors, highlighting that “staff took the time to listen and engage in conversation and treated them with kindness, empathy and compassion.”

The “good” rating is a testament to the home’s commitment to enriching the lives of its residents, families and staff.

Home Manager, Kerrie Haines, commented:

“We are thrilled to be acknowledged for the care we provide within our inclusive and welcoming community. This rating truly reflects our team's dedication to maintaining the highest standards of care and ensuring each resident's experience is safe, supportive and tailored to their needs.

Our commitment to building strong and caring relationships is evident in the enriching experiences we offer, which build a sense of continuity and belonging for all residents”.
