The Manse's glowing Good CQC

The team and residents at The Manse in South Norwood, London, are celebrating the home’s glowing Care Quality Commission (CQC) report.
The home has received a Good in every single area of the report from the independent health and social care regulator.
The inspectors praised the “homely, open and inclusive culture” at the not-for-profit home, with one of many residents interviewed saying “I love it here.”
Other comments included: “People told us they were safe, comfortable and happy at the service. People were looked after well by staff, who treated them with kindness and respect. “
The report had high praise for the leadership and staffing team. Feedback from residents and their loved ones included: “They are really nice people, always cheerful, always patient,” while another said the home was “very well managed”.
Home manager Nitin Paupiah said: “We are so proud of our report, which is a testament to the fantastic team we have here at The Manse, and their dedication to enriching the lives of our residents.
“I am delighted that the report highlights our unwavering commitment to supporting our residents’ independence, which is something we are devoted to here – this is our residents’ home, and they have a very active role in how it is run. For example, we have residents who run the gardening club and our book club, sharing those lifelong skills and keeping their passions alive.”
The report also revealed: “Staff encouraged people to do as much as they could for themselves, promoting their confidence and independence with the activities of daily living,” and “people were included and listened to, and staff consistently interacted positively with them”.
Other highlights included: “The service was managed well. Staff were valued and supported with their wellbeing. There was a culture of learning, inclusivity and partnership working at the service, focused on supporting people to achieve positive outcomes.”
