Camilla House celebrates Very Good CI rating

The team and residents at our care home in Edinburgh are celebrating a glowing Care Inspectorate (CI) report.    

Camilla House Care Home has Very Good ratings in all areas, with the quality of the staff and the support for residents’ wellbeing highlighted as areas of excellence.  

One relative described the social interaction and wellbeing for their loved one as “first class, there are always activities to stimulate throughout the day, and the staff are fantastic at this.”

The report explained how the care was truly “person centred”, with “kind and compassionate interactions with staff” who promoted “comfort and reassurance”. It highlighted the attention to detail in residents’ care plans, which “captured the essence of the person's life, personality, and values.”

The experiences residents enjoyed received high praise indeed, from the themed and cultural days, live music sessions, animal visits and community events that “built new and nurtured existing relationships and brought a sense of belonging”.

Home Manager, Michelle McQueen, said: “We are incredibly proud of our report, which reflects the vibrant, caring community that makes Camilla House so special. Our team are passionate about making sure every resident feels a sense of belonging, joy and purpose, each and every day, so we are thrilled that the inspectors recognised the strength of our relationships, the creativity of the experiences we offer, and the dedication of our staff.”

The report had high praise for the leadership and staffing team, described in the report as having “strong knowledge and competence in their roles”, with a “caring and compassionate approach” and “excellent communication.”
