The team at Sanctuary Care’s Beach Lawns Residential and Nursing Home in Weston-super-Mare are beaming with pride after a much-loved member of the team was shortlisted for a national award.

Maintenance Operative Attila Molnar has been named a finalist in The Stars of Social Care – Care Home Awards 2026.

Attila has been named a finalist for The Awesome Ancillary Worker Award, recognising his contribution to daily life at the not-for-profit care home and the difference he makes to residents and colleagues. Winners will be announced at a ceremony in London on Saturday, 13 June.

Since joining Beach Lawns a year ago, Attila’s dedication to his role and the contribution he makes to enriching the lives of the residents has shone through.

Home Manager Rachel Miller said: “This recognition reflects not only exceptional performance, but the dedication, compassion, and professionalism that Attila brings to our home every single day.

“He has had a remarkable impact on the home and exemplifies the values we hold dear. His outstanding contribution truly shines, and we are so lucky and proud to work with him. It is truly a pleasure.”

Attila’s contribution extends beyond maintenance. He is a familiar and friendly face to residents, taking time to chat and ensure their surroundings, including how their bedrooms are presented, feel like home. He is also known for going out of his way to support others, including organising a fundraising cake sale for the NSPCC, Sanctuary’s Charity of the Year.

Attila said: “When I found out I had been nominated it was a big surprise and made me very happy!

“Until I came to Beach Lawns, I had never worked in a care home before and I love it here. I really like chatting to the residents. This is their home, so I love to do things for them to make it as comfortable for them as I can. For me helping to do that is something I really enjoy, and they are always so grateful.”

The Stars of Social Care Awards recognise individuals across the sector who go above and beyond in their roles. Attila’s shortlisting highlights the often behind the scenes work of ancillary teams and the essential part they play in life in care homes.

Beach Lawns and Sanctuary Care wish Attila the very best for the awards and are proud to see his contribution recognised on a national stage.
