A Special Holiday for Jim and Ina

A couple reunited at Forefaulds Care Home in East Kilbride have been making new memories together during a recent overnight holiday with fellow residents.

Jim first came to Forefaulds for a respite stay while his wife, Ina, was living at Westwood House Care Home. After quickly settling in and becoming part of the home’s community, Jim decided he wanted to make Forefaulds his permanent home and hoped Ina could join him when a room became available.

Now reunited, the couple spend every day together and recently enjoyed an overnight break with other residents, taking outdoor walks and socialising with friends.

Before moving into care, Jim and Ina shared a love of travel and enjoyed many holidays together, particularly in Italy, where they explored different parts of the country over the years.

Jim is also one of Forefaulds’ foodbank volunteers and enjoys meeting people and staying connected to the local community.

Reflecting on the trip, Jim said: “It was really great to get away for the night, and I'm glad I did it. I would go away again, but next time for two nights.”

Lifestyle and Wellbeing Coordinator Kirtsy said: “It has been wonderful to see Jim and Ina enjoying this special trip together. Creating opportunities for residents to continue making memories and enjoying new experiences is so important, and it was lovely to see them both having such a great time.”
