Forefaulds celebrate their Good CQC report

Congratulations to our team who enrich lives every day
The team and residents at Forefaulds Care Home in East Kilbride are celebrating after receiving a Good in all areas in their Care Inspectorate report.
Our not-for-profit care home has been graded ‘good’ across all five quality indicators - residents’ wellbeing, leadership, staff performance, the care home setting, and care and support planning.
The many highlights praised by the inspectors include the way that staff engage with the residents, with such “kindness and respect,” supporting their unique “individual mental, emotional, and wellbeing needs”.
The report revealed how residents were directly involved in decision making and how staff focused on their individual life histories, to create meaningful experiences and engagement.
The “dementia friendly” and “homely” environment of Forefaulds was also celebrated. The team was commended for creating areas to “promote people’s feelings of wellbeing and social inclusion”, including a bar, café and hair salon”.
Home manager Pauline Stevenson said: “We are so proud of the care we provide here at Forefaulds. We are passionate about looking beyond our residents’ physical care needs, working together so they can thrive and lead enriched lives where they feel truly happy and fulfilled.”
The report also revealed how the residents’ “independence was promoted”, which contributed to them having a “sense of purpose and dignity”.
Pauline added: “We have a fantastic team here, including our National Care Award-winning activities coordinator, who are passionate about creating experiences which bring our residents’ joy and keep them connected to the community outside their home, creating a sense of belonging.”
