What you can expect
Spend time alongside people who bring care to life every day and see how support is given and returned in real, everyday moments. You’ll get a feel for working in a care home, develop practical experience, and build skills that can support future opportunities. Whether you’re taking your first step or exploring a new direction, you’ll be welcomed into a team where people look out for each other and where your contribution is valued.
Work experience placements
Work experience gives you the chance to see what a role in care is really like. Placements are often completed as part of education or during holidays, helping you apply what you’ve learned in a real environment. You’ll build confidence, develop practical skills and gain a clearer understanding of whether a career in care is right for you. For many, it’s a first step towards a future role.
Volunteering opportunities
Volunteering is a way to share your time, skills or interests in something meaningful. You might support activities, spend time with residents, or bring hobbies and ideas that help shape everyday experiences in our homes. It’s flexible and often longer-term, giving you the chance to build connections and see the difference you make over time. The impact is felt both ways. You’ll support others while gaining confidence, experience and a real sense of purpose.
