Orchard House is situated close to the High Street in the beautiful village of Sawston, on the outskirts of Cambridge.
Seven miles from the picturesque university city of Cambridge, our care home is a bus ride from all the shops, restaurants, galleries, stunning cathedral and other attractions this stunning city has to offer.
Our dedicated team provides a range of care and support for our residents, including residential care, dementia care and day care.
Our care home has been designed with the usual comforts you’d expect such as welcoming lounges and dining rooms and cosy bedrooms, which provide a warm place for our residents to rest and relax.
Orchard House also has a sensory room, a hairdressing salon and Day Care Centre, where people from the local community can meet and socialise.
However it’s the small personal touches and our friendly team, who care for our residents as if they were members of their own family, which make Orchard House a true home from home.
We welcome visits from family and friends and have an open door policy, so whether loved ones like to pop in for a coffee or take part in an activity, we encourage them to become part of the community within our home.
We hold regular meetings for residents and relatives, enabling our residents and their loved ones to be directly involved in everyday life at Orchard House.
Our 35 bedrooms are available with and without en-suites and all have telephone and television points.
Bedrooms are tastefully decorated and furnished, although we do encourage our residents to bring personal ornaments, pictures and small items of furniture to make their rooms their own.
We have several lounges for our residents to use as they wish, whether catching up with friends and family or simply reading a good book. Residents can also enjoy a host of activities in the care home’s dedicated Day Care Centre.
Orchard House also has a sensory room, which features special lighting and a variety of tactile furnishings for a relaxing multi-sensory experience.
Our dining rooms provide a welcoming atmosphere to enjoy delicious home-cooked meals in the company of others.
The sensory gardens are landscaped with raised flower beds for our residents who like to do a spot of light gardening and include a seating area to relax in the sunshine.
