Located in a residential area of Erith, our care home is within easy reach of local transport, in and around Kent.

More than just a care home

Something that always takes visitors by surprise is the size of the bedrooms in our care home. The spacious, residential apartment-style bedrooms have their own lounge areas, complete with kitchenette facilities. They also have en-suite wet rooms, telephone and television points. With a living space that residents can call home, these rooms really enhance that feeling of independence for many of them.

Shaftesbury Court even has double bedroom apartments available for couples.

Residents have access to wonderful communal facilities, including the beautiful garden. The grounds are truly glorious, with harbour style seating areas where the residents enjoy summer barbecues. We even have raised flower beds for our green-fingered residents to continue a pastime they’ve always adored. These beds are the perfect height for residents with limited mobility or in wheelchairs.

Engaging activities

No two days are the same here at Shaftesbury Court, with person-centered and engaging activities taking place every single day. We support residents with hobbies they have always loved, inspiring them to try new things and helping them to get out and about to places they enjoy visiting across Erith and Kent.

You can find us taking part in arts and crafts with local schoolchildren or our volunteers, enjoying a spot of animal therapy, or even indulging in a hand massage in the hairdressing salon. Some of the residents enjoy going to the Diamond Jubilee Club and a monthly film club in Slade Green.

A team that feels like family

At the heart of the home is a truly dedicated team, managed by home manager Blessing. We have many long-serving members of the team who have been with us for years and years. People often praise the home for its family feel and loved ones are reassured to see a familiar face. It’s more than just delivering high quality residential care and respite care. We go above and beyond to make our residents and those closest to them to feel part of something special.

“My mother is extremely pleased with the care she receives. She doesn't have a bad word to say about Shaftesbury Court and all the carers who work there. They take good care of her and it's a great relief to me that I know she is well looked after.” review from the daughter of a resident – March 2019

“What a clean and lovely environment my brother is staying in. The staff are very helpful. His room is kept clean and tidy. Thank God for a wonderful place. Thank you very much for looking after my brother.” review from the sister of a resident – September 2018
