Nestled in a quiet residential area of Chaddesden in Derby, The Park is a forever home. Offering both residential care and nursing care, our residents have the peace of mind that our support will continually evolve with their changing needs.

As well as providing the high standard of care that our residents deserve, we are also extremely proud of our facilities and the activities we offer. We are more than just a care home in Derby, we enrich our residents’ lives, supporting them to live as independently as they possibly can.

With the help of the team here the residents and their loved ones are able to make new memories together. Sometimes that can be in our beautiful landscaped gardens, where they can tend to the vegetable patch or plant seeds. Our gardens are a place that many of our families enjoy spending time together and looking after the plants gives some of our residents a real sense of pride.

Gardening activities are a wonderful form of therapy, reigniting the passion for a pastime that many of our residents loved to do before moving into residential care. The fresh air and smell of aromatic herbs also stimulate the senses. With mint, thyme and basil, you can often find us picking herbs. This brings back fond memories for our residents who loved to get creative in their own kitchens.

And while we are outside we can’t forget to mention our barbecue garden, with a relaxed seating area. This is a really popular spot in the warmer months for family gatherings and community events.

Inspiring and fulfilling care home activities

Inside our welcoming residential and nursing home, we have our own hairdressing salon. The ladies and gents can have a set, colour, rollers or a trim, without having to leave their home. Visiting every week, our mobile hairdresser supports us to maintain residents’ independence, as they can pop to the hairdressers as they would have done before moving into The Park.

Elsewhere we have four smaller themed lounges for residents and loved ones to enjoy. The library has a variety of modern and classic titles. Meanwhile, our reminiscence lounge includes nostalgic memorabilia and treasures. The gramophone is always very popular as we love the sound of old records. This space is extremely comforting, especially for those living with dementia.

At The Park, we pride ourselves on the variety of activities we provide. We regularly welcome talented live entertainers from across Chaddesden and Derby to perform in the care home. With hits from the roaring forties to the swinging sixties, residents love to take a trip down memory lane. Music is a wonderful activity, especially those living with dementia because it brings back wonderful memories from their younger years in a very sociable setting.

For our animal lovers, you will often find four-legged friends making a special appearance in our home. Derbyshire Shetland ponies often trot along to provide a spot of animal therapy. And for our residents with higher nursing needs, we can organise special visits to their bedside.

With our own minibus, we are able to help our residents to remain active members of their much-loved community. We organise trips out and about in Chaddesden and the wider Derbyshire area. Our residents particularly like to visit Matlock Bath, local garden centres and Manor Farm Park & Woodlands in East Leake.

Pricing information

It is usual for residents in care homes to contribute to the cost of their own care. Some people have the resources to pay for their care in full, whilst others make means-tested contributions. Our weekly fees are individual to each of our residents and are subject to a pre-admission assessment, which is required to truly understand the level of care and support needed.

Our 2022 weekly care fees for residential care start from £842 and £907 for nursing care, but maybe in the region of 20% more. This depends on your care needs and the type of bedroom that is right for you, from our standard rooms through to our premium bedroom options.

*If you require more specialist care such as 1-2-1 support your weekly fee could be higher.
