Guys Court provides residential, nursing and dementia care for older people in a comfortable and relaxing environment

We provide care that is of the highest standard, tailored to meet individuals’ needs, wishes and choices.

Guys Court has 37 bedrooms, some of which have en-suite toilet facilities and all of which have an emergency call system. We have a double room which, when available, is offered to couples who enter the home and wish to live together.

Our lounge, bistro and Guys Court social club, provide a variety of areas where people can relax and socialise whilst accessible wetrooms and bathrooms, with enabling baths, support people with mobility issues to still enjoy a bath.

Residents are encouraged to bring with them photographs, pictures and small items that will personalise their room and support them to feel at home.

Guys Court is a purpose built care home situated in a residential area of Fleetwood, within walking distance of the sea.

Our team

Our care team is on-hand 24 hours a day, every day of the year and staff are dedicated to delivering care with kindness.

To ensure we continue to provide the best standards of care and support to our residents, we recruit and train only the best staff.

Whilst they receive a variety of on-going training to ensure their skills remain up-to-date, along with an enhanced DBS check (formerly CRB), it is their dedication to our residents which makes them truly special.

We work in close partnership with GP’s and other health professionals and specialist services.

We enable people to maintain lifestyles that are as similar as possible to those enjoyed at home. We encourage regular interaction with the local community and have regular visits from our local nursery school.  We encourage friends and family to be involved through regular visits and participation in special activities, events and open days.

The activities offered at Guys Court are very much based on the individual person’s choice and interests. We offer a choice of therapeutic activities,  arts and crafts sessions, board games, regular music-based exercise and a range of entertainers visit each month.

We have our own in-house hairdressing salon, “Guys and Dolls”, and residents also have regular visits from chiropodists, physiotherapists, opticians and other professionals. Ministers from local churches also visit the home.

Care and Support

Our aim is to empower residents to make their own choices about how they live their lives. We believe that every individual irrespective of their physical, social or psychological condition has the right to be treated with dignity and respect and supported to maintain choice and control over their own lives.

With the understanding that people bring with them a life story of achievements, events and life experiences, we know that this information is essential to ensure a tailored care package for each individual’s specific needs.

We ensure that our person-centred assessments are all tailored to the whole person and we will look at what people can do, not just what they need assistance with. Most importantly we ensure that the individual themselves and their loved ones help us to put together a bespoke plan of care. Guys Court staff will endeavour, wherever possible, to make sure the same staff member who visits an individual to discuss admission is the person who then welcomes them into the home.

Home-cooked meals

Meals times are an important part of the day at Guys Court. Our experienced catering staff prepare a varied menu of fresh home cooked food every day and we cater for individual likes and dislikes from a cultural, religious or choice perspective. Meals are served in Guy’s Bistro and residents have the choice of dining in their own room if they wish.
