Our care home has been designed with the usual comforts you’d expect such as welcoming lounges, a light and airy atrium, a lovely cafe, landscaped gardens and cosy bedrooms, which provide a warm place for our residents to rest and relax.
However it’s the small personal touches and our friendly team, who care for our residents as if they were members of their own family, which make Park View a true home from home.
We welcome visits from family and friends and have an open door policy, so whether loved ones like to pop in for a coffee or take part in an activity, we encourage them to become part of the community within our home.
We hold regular meetings for residents and relatives, enabling our residents and their loved ones to be directly involved in everyday life at Park View.
Our 60 spacious bedrooms are all en-suite and have television points.
Bedrooms are tastefully decorated and furnished, although we do encourage our residents to bring personal ornaments, pictures and small items of furniture to make their rooms their own.
As well as the several lounges we have a bright and airy atrium, which leads to our cafe - a beautifully decorated area where residents can meet up with loved ones or people from the local community over a coffee and a slice of cake.
Our dining rooms provide a welcoming atmosphere for our residents to enjoy delicious home-cooked meals in the company of others.
We have also created a cinema room, which features surround sound and contains movie memorabilia.
The secure gardens are landscaped with a water feature, raised flower beds and a vegetable patch for our residents who like to do a spot of light gardening.
Park View’s features include:
- Spacious en-suite bedrooms, with television points
- A hairdressing salon
- Light and airy atrium
- A cinema room
- Hairdressing salon
- Landscaped gardens with raised flower beds
- Wi-Fi enabled throughout the home.
Our care team is on-hand 24 hours a day, every day of the year and staff are dedicated to delivering care with kindness.
To ensure we continue to provide the best standards of care and support to our residents, we recruit and train only the best staff.
Whilst they receive a variety of on-going training to ensure their skills remain up-to-date, along with an enhanced DBS check (formerly CRB), it is their dedication to our residents which makes them truly special.
We believe it is important that our residents spend their time as they choose, so have a dedicated activities person to support them to take part in interesting activities, rekindle old past times and try new things.
We have a hairdressing salon and our residents also enjoy being pampered with manicures and hand massages.
Regular activities on offer include everything from baking, live music entertainment, arts and crafts and light exercise sessions.
We also organise trips to places of interest outside the home including Meadowhall Shopping Centre, theatre visits and pub lunches.
Throughout the year, we also host regular themed community events such as summer fetes and Christmas fairs.
We pride ourselves on treating people as individuals, so all our residents have care plans tailored to their individual medical, social and emotional needs. We review care plans on a regular basis and involve family and friends in this process wherever possible.
The range of personal care services we can provide, in partnership with local professionals, include:
- Optical care
- Dental care
- Key worker
Our catering team prides themselves on preparing nutritious, seasonal home-cooked meals, along with mouth-watering home-baked cakes for afternoon tea.
Residents help us to shape the menus and our catering team spends time with them to get feedback on the dishes and their likes and dislikes. They are also able to cater for a variety of dietary requirements.
Breakfast includes a wide variety of choice from cereals and toast to a traditional cooked breakfast.
Lunch and dinnertimes see a selection of sandwiches, homemade soups, salads, jacket potatoes and hot meals such as a Sunday roast with all the trimmings and favourites including fish and chips, cottage pie and a hearty casserole.
There is also an array of snacks and refreshments available throughout the day for residents and their loved ones if they get a bit peckish.
