A forever home in which residents can continue to call home regardless of their needs changing, Ivydene is very much part of the local community.
Set in a quiet residential area of the historic mill town of Ivybridge in Devon, our care home provides residential care, nursing care, dementia care, palliative care and respite care to residents.
The links the home has with groups across Ivybridge, South Hams and beyond are very important to the residents. Every week children from Little Orchard Montessori Nurseries visit the home. Whether reading stories or doing arts and crafts with the residents, their visits are always a highlight. Ivydene’s residents, some of whom receive residential care, dementia care and others who have greater nursing needs, love their visits from students at Dame Hannah Rogers School in Ivybridge.
Members of the Ivybridge U3A (University of the Third Age) are also regular visitors to our residential and nursing home, taking part in arts and crafts sessions with residents.
Representatives from groups like the Parkinson’s Society and Dementia Friends also visit regularly to run sessions with our team, residents and their loved ones.
Ivydene will soon have a Namaste room for our dementia residents to enjoy, providing them with total sensory stimulation and relaxation. The room will include a multi-sensory system which can play soothing music, project lights and images, has bubbles and fibre optic lights. This special piece of equipment will be mobile so that if a resident is receiving nursing or palliative care, it can be used in their bedrooms.

It is usual for residents in care homes to contribute to the cost of their own care. Some people have the resources to pay for their care in full, whilst others make means-tested contributions. Our weekly fees are individual to each of our residents and are subject to a pre-admission assessment, which is required to truly understand the level of care and support needed.
Our 2022 weekly care fees for residential care start from £916 but may be up to £1,225 and £1,152 but may be up to £1,440 for nursing care*. This depends on your care needs and the type of bedroom that is right for you, from our standard rooms through to our premium bedroom options.
*If you require more specialist care such as 1-2-1 support your weekly fee could be higher.
