Juniper House is a stunning new care home situated in a residential area, within walking distance of St John’s in the cathedral city of Worcester.

A short drive from the city centre St John’s has a library, attractive parks, shops, cafes and pubs. There is also a GP surgery next door to the care home.

Our dedicated team provides a range of care and support for our residents, including residential care, dementia care and respite care.

Our care home has all of the luxuries you would expect with light and airy lounges, which are beautifully decorated and furnished, welcoming dining rooms, sensory gardens and spacious bedrooms, which provide a warm place for our residents to rest and relax.

Juniper House is also next door to a central hub, where our residents have full use of the facilities, including a hairdressing salon, cafe, restaurant and rooms to take part in activities.

However it’s the small personal touches and our friendly team, who care for our residents as if they were members of their own family, which make Juniper House a true home from home.

We welcome visits from family and friends and have an open door policy, so whether loved ones like to pop in for a coffee in the hub or take part in an activity, we encourage them to become part of the community within our home.

Accommodation

Our spacious 60 bedrooms have en-suite wet rooms, as well as internet access and telephone and television points.

Bedrooms are beautifully decorated and furnished, although we do encourage our residents to bring personal ornaments, pictures and small items of furniture to make their rooms their own.

We have several light and airy lounges for our residents to use as they wish, whether taking part in activities, catching up with friends and family or simply reading a good book.

Our dining rooms provide a welcoming atmosphere to enjoy delicious home-cooked meals in the company of others.

The sensory gardens are landscaped with raised flower beds for our residents who like to do a spot of light gardening. They are surrounded by pathways which are specially designed to be suitable for wheelchairs.

Juniper House’s features include:

  • Spacious bedrooms, with en-suite wet rooms, telephone and television points
  • Beautifully furnished and decorated throughout
  • Dining rooms where our residents enjoy home-cooked meals
  • Sensory gardens with raised flower beds
  • Access to the central hub’s facilities, including hairdressing salon, cafe and restaurant
  • wi-fi logo  Wi-Fi enabled throughout the home.

Our team

Our care team is on-hand 24 hours a day, every day of the year and staff are dedicated to delivering care with kindness.

To ensure we continue to provide the best standards of care and support to our residents, we recruit and train only the best staff.

Whilst they receive a variety of on-going training to ensure their skills remain up-to-date, along with an enhanced DBS check (formerly CRB), it is their dedication to our residents which makes them truly special.

Activities

We believe it is important that our residents spend their time as they choose, so have a dedicated activities person to support them to take part in interesting activities, rekindle old past times and try new things.

The home is next door to a central hub, which is used by neighbouring residents in the extra care and retirement living accommodation, creating a real community feel. Our residents have full use of the hairdressing salon, cafe and restaurant, as well as rooms to take part in activities.

Regular activities on offer include everything from baking, light exercise sessions, arts and crafts, knit and natter groups and live music entertainment.

Care and Support

We pride ourselves on treating people as individuals, so all our residents have care plans tailored to their individual medical, social and emotional needs. We review care plans on a regular basis and involve family and friends in this process wherever possible.

The range of personal care services we can provide, in partnership with local professionals, include:

  • Chiropody
  • Hairdressing
  • Optical care
  • Dental care
  • GP
  • Key worker

Home-cooked meals

Our catering team prides themselves on preparing nutritious, seasonal home-cooked meals, along with mouth-watering home-baked cakes for afternoon tea.

Residents help us to shape the menus and our catering team spends time with them to get feedback on the dishes and their likes and dislikes. They are also able to cater for a variety of dietary requirements.

Breakfast includes a wide variety of choice from cereals and toast to a traditional cooked breakfast.

Lunch and dinnertimes see a selection of sandwiches, homemade soups, salads, jacket potatoes and hot meals such as a Sunday roast with all the trimmings and favourites including fish and chips, cottage pie and a hearty casserole.

There is also an array of snacks and refreshments available throughout the day for residents and their loved ones if they get a bit peckish.
