Care homes in Lancashire

We currently have two Sanctuary care homes in Lancashire offering residential, dementia, nursing, respite and palliative care for senior residents.

There’s Guy's Court in the popular seaside town of Fleetwood, and Peel Gardens in the ancient market town of Colne.

Lancashire is a region that has a little bit of everything – from beautiful rolling hills to stretches of coastline overlooking the Irish Sea.

Situated on the Fylde Coast, Fleetwood offers plenty of the latter, with flat sandy beaches providing the perfect spot to relax on a sunny day. It’s also home to Fleetwood Museum, which explores the town’s maritime heritage and people, as well as the spectacular domed Art Deco entertainment venue, Marine Hall.

Colne is located in the west of the region, not too far from the Yorkshire border. Naturally, this puts it in close proximity to many peaceful plots of countryside. The town has lots of independent shops and restaurants, Colne Golf Club, Wycoller Country Park and the huge Boundary Outlet department store.

Residential care homes in Lancashire

Both of our care homes in Lancashire provide person-centred residential care for elderly people. We pride ourselves on having created comfortable environments where our residents can receive the exact level of support they need, when they need it – whether it’s assistance with getting around the home or help with dressing for the day.

Independence is hugely important to us. Our Lancashire care homes are a ‘home from home’ for our residents – which means they can still continue with the hobbies and interests they had before. We encourage them to spend their time exactly as they wish. There’s always plenty going on around our homes – with activities designed to enrich lives a big part of life with Sanctuary.

Dementia care homes in Lancashire

We deliver dementia care in Lancashire to the highest standards. Our professional teams can provide round-the-clock support for people affected by Alzheimer’s, Lewy body and vascular dementia, as well as other forms of age-related memory loss. We work closely with our residents, their families and healthcare professionals to create a care plan that recognises the individual and their needs. It can be adapted too as the condition progresses.

Meaningful and engaging activities play a huge part in our dementia care homes in Lancashire. Sensory activities and reminiscence therapy allow residents impacted by dementia to be fully involved and connected. As well as working with our residents, we also support their families to understand the illness better. Loved ones are always welcome.

Nursing care homes in Lancashire

For elderly people in need of a more dedicated level of care, for a long-term medical condition or disability, Peel Gardens Residential and Nursing Home in Colne offers nursing care. Here, we have nurses who provide around-the-clock support tailored to meet individual care needs.

Our nursing teams support our residents in a number of ways, including by providing personal care, administering medication and supporting them during mealtimes. Everything we do is done with compassion and dignity.

Palliative care in Lancashire

We understand the aftermath of a terminal diagnosis is a distressing time for the individual and their family. Both of our Lancashire care homes can provide end of life care, tailored to support the person rather than just treat their illness. Our homes offer comfortable environments designed to help residents to enjoy the best quality of life possible.

Our palliative care services are provided by compassionate carers who can provide support with the physical symptoms, as well as offer emotional support. We use advanced care planning to help with pain management and manage any anxieties a person might have around their condition. We’re here to offer support for families too – at every step.

Respite care in Lancashire

Are you the primary caregiver for a loved one, and need to take a short break from your duties? Our Lancashire care homes offer pre-bookable respite care breaks for elderly people. These services are designed to allow carers to recharge while ensuring the person they care for receives all the support they need in a safe setting.

We love welcoming respite residents into our homes – whether short or longer-term. During a typical respite stay, residents will have the opportunity to spend time with our permanent residents and carers, where they’ll be able to socialise and form new friendships. They’ll have the opportunity to benefit from the wonderful facilities at Guy’s Court and Peel Gardens too.
