A right royal tea party

Residents at a Sanctuary Care home in Hersden will don their finest frocks and handmade crowns for a royal themed Care Home Open Day next week.
On Saturday 21 April, people from the local community are invited to Meadow View Residential Care Home in Blackthorn Road, between 2.30pm and 4.30pm, to enjoy a very special combined celebration.
There will be a royal themed high tea party to mark Care Home Open Day, which coincides with The Queen’s 92nd birthday.
There will be sweet treats fit for a Queen, with scrumptious cream teas and a variety of mouth-watering home-made cakes, plus a photo booth with regal themed props to capture magical moments from the day.
Speaking of the festivities, home manager Matt Wood said: “We are so excited to be celebrating this special day with a spectacular party and are looking forward to welcoming both new and familiar faces along to celebrate with our team and residents.”
Saturday 21 April marks the sixth annual Care Home Open Day, when homes nationwide open their doors and welcome people to share a special day with their teams and residents, forging lasting links with their local communities.
The theme for this year is linking communities, so if anyone would be interested in attending, please drop in anytime between 2.30pm and 4.30pm.
Care Home Open Day comes as a double celebration for Sanctuary Care, which is marking its 20 year anniversary of delivering care to its residents.
The address for those wishing to attend is Blackthorn Road, Hersden, Canterbury, Kent, CT3 4GB.
