Lammas House shortlisted for two national care awards
The dedicated team at a Sanctuary Care home in Coventry are proud beyond belief after being shortlisted for not one – but two prestigious UK care awards.
Staff at Lammas House Residential Care Home in Coventry are in the running for Regional Care Home of the Year (Midlands and Wales) and the Catering Team of the Year accolade in the Caring UK Awards 2018.
The awards, organised by Script Events in conjunction with leading care industry magazine Caring UK, showcase excellence across the care sector and pay tribute to the teams who make an outstanding contribution to caring for older people.
Having been visited by a member of the awards team, the staff will now attend a glittering ceremony at The Athena in Leicester on Thursday 6 December, where they will go head to head with five other finalists in each category.
The Regional Care Home of the Year Award is for homes which truly stand out in their region, with a special focus on nutrition, innovation and dignity. Meanwhile the Catering Team of the Year award is for teams which strive for perfection in every meal they cook.
Speaking about the double celebration home manager Rukmi Silva said: “We are truly overwhelmed to have been shortlisted, it means everything to us as a team and our residents are so proud us of. They are the ones we do this for and I am blessed to have such an amazing team working here. We are so happy that all our efforts and hard work have been recognised in this way - what a brilliant end to 2018!”
The home’s regional manager Anastasia Meredith added: “Everyone at Sanctuary Care is thrilled for Rukmi and her brilliant team. The way they care for their residents and support them to lead happy and fulfilled lives each and every day is wonderful to see and we are all so proud of them.”
