Town Mayor helps open new Devizes care home

Devizes Mayor councillor Andy Geddes was the guest of honour as a new Sanctuary Care home officially opened its doors.
Briggs Lodge Residential and Nursing Home provides residential, residential dementia and nursing care for up to 66 residents.
Staff and residents also joined in the celebrations at the event to mark the opening of the latest addition to Sanctuary Care’s portfolio, which includes four homes rated by the Care Quality Commission as ‘Outstanding’.
The opening event, which was attended by families and friends of residents, local councillors and representatives from dementia charities, included a visit from the famous Wadworth Shire Horses and a ceremonial cake cutting.
Cllr Geddes was also given a tour of the home, which features an open plan lounge and dining area, on-site café, library, hair and beauty salon and cinema room, along with Sanctuary Group board members and directors.
The Mayor of Devizes said: “It was a pleasure to be shown around Briggs Lodge to see what it has to offer and be part of its official opening.
“The event was a huge success and I’m sure the residents and their families had a wonderful time.”
Sarah Clarke-Kuehn, Group Director – Care, commented: “Briggs Lodge will be a welcome addition to the care on offer to the people of Devizes.
“We are looking forward to welcoming more residents to the home over the coming months and delivering person centred care which will enrich their lives.”
