Everyone plays a part in enriching lives
No matter what role someone holds within our care homes, every member of the team plays a vital part in enriching our residents’ lives. From an activities leader helping someone enjoy a favourite hobby, to a chef making a loved dish, we share one purpose. We bring enjoyment, comfort, and smiles to the people we care for.
Care bespoke to every individual
Our teams work closely with residents and their loved ones to create detailed, person-centred care plans. We review and update these plans regularly. For relatives who may have cared for someone at home, this offers peace of mind that no important detail is overlooked. It also allows family members to step back from the role of carer and return to being sons, daughters, husbands, wives and partners once again.
We are committed to continually developing and supporting our colleagues. Through our Learning and Nurse Development Team, we invest in training and growth. This helps us retain staff and provide steady care. This continuity is vital for our residents.

Dedicated teams, unique approaches
Our staff are kind and compassionate. They are deeply committed to enriching each resident’s life in a meaningful way. As no two people are the same, how this is achieved varies for every individual.
It may happen through planned activities and shared experiences. We may welcome family and friends into the home. We may also help residents stay connected in the local community.
But don’t just take our word for it, click below to watch a video of our teams doing what they do best:

Supporting happiness and fulfilment
Each of our homes has dedicated team members who support residents to enjoy hobbies and activities they love. Some residents thrive in social group settings, like arts and crafts with schoolchildren or musical performances. Others prefer quiet, one-to-one moments, like a relaxing hand massage or a chat about past days.
The lengths our teams will go to for residents are truly remarkable. From making extraordinary journeys in challenging weather to fundraising for activities or giving up personal time to support special events, their dedication is unwavering.
We also actively encourage independence and involvement. Some residents represent their home at staff meetings or take part in interviewing new team members, helping to shape the community they live in.
Our highly talented chefs
Mealtimes are one of the highlights of the day for many residents. Our skilled catering teams make tasty, home-cooked meals each day. They also bake fresh treats for afternoon tea. They make special cakes for birthdays and other occasions.
Each year, we celebrate their creativity and skill through Sanctuary Care’s MasterChef competition, where chefs go head‑to‑head in a two‑course cook‑off to win the coveted title.
Behind the scenes, our large central support team with expertise ranging from finance to recruitment enables care home teams to focus their time where it matters most: with residents. We are also introducing kradle, our electronic care planning app, across all homes. By updating care plans at the point of care, this frees up even more time for meaningful interactions, rather than paperwork.
