Lammas House is a delightful care home in the heart of Coventry, Warwickshire.
Positioned in a residential area opposite the United Reform Church, our care home is situated close to shops, restaurants and all the other attractions the area has to offer.
Our dedicated team provides a range of care and support for our residents, including residential care and respite care.
Our care home has been designed with the usual comforts you’d expect such as beautifully decorated lounge areas, a light and airy dining room and cosy bedrooms, which provide a warm place for our residents to rest and relax.
However it’s the small personal touches and our friendly team, who care for our residents as if they were members of their own family, which make Lammas House a true home from home.
We welcome visits from family and friends and have an open door policy, so whether loved ones like to pop in for a coffee or take part in an activity, we encourage them to become part of the community within our home.
We also hold monthly meetings for residents and relatives, enabling our residents and their loved ones are directly involved in everyday life at Lammas House.
We have extensively refurbished Lammas House to the attractive care home it is today. Our 23 bedrooms are extremely spacious and have en-suites, as well as television points.
Bedrooms are tastefully decorated and furnished, although we do encourage our residents to bring personal ornaments, pictures and small items of furniture to make their rooms their own.
We have beautiful lounge areas which are places for our residents to use as they wish, whether catching up with friends and family or simply reading a good book.
Residents can also take part in fun activities in the comfort of the care home’s activity room.
Our dining room provides a welcoming atmosphere for our residents to enjoy delicious home-cooked meals in the company of others.
Lammas House’s features include:
- Spacious en-suite bedrooms, with television points
- Homely lounge areas
- An activity room
- A dining room where our residents enjoy home-cooked meals
- Hairdressing salon
- Wi-Fi enabled throughout the home.
Our care team is on-hand 24 hours a day, every day of the year and staff are dedicated to delivering care with kindness.
To ensure we continue to provide the best standards of care and support to our residents, we recruit and train only the best staff.
Whilst they receive a variety of on-going training to ensure their skills remain up-to-date, along with an enhanced DBS check (formerly CRB), it is their dedication to our residents which makes them truly special.
We believe it is important that our residents spend their time as they choose, so have a dedicated activities person to support them to take part in interesting activities, rekindle old past times and try new things.
We have a hairdressing salon and our residents also enjoy being pampered with manicures and hand massages.
Regular activities on offer include everything from baking, bingo, quizzes, arts and crafts, live music, performing arts entertainers and themed events celebrating national days. Children from our local primary school also like to come and join us for special occasions.
Our residents like to make the most of what their community has to offer, so we go on regular trips to shopping centres, for pub lunches and summer picnics.
Throughout the year, the care home also hosts regular themed community events such as summer fetes and Christmas fairs.
We pride ourselves on treating people as individuals, so all our residents have care plans tailored to their individual medical, social and emotional needs. We review care plans on a regular basis and involve family and friends in this process wherever possible.
The range of personal care services we can provide, in partnership with local professionals, include:
- Optical care
- Dental care
- Key worker
Our catering team prides themselves on preparing nutritious, seasonal home-cooked meals, along with mouth-watering home-baked cakes for afternoon tea.
Residents help us to shape the menus and our catering team spends time with them to get feedback on the dishes and their likes and dislikes. They are also able to cater for a variety of dietary requirements.
Breakfast includes a wide variety of choice from cereals and toast to a traditional cooked breakfast.
Lunch and dinnertimes see a selection of sandwiches, homemade soups, salads, jacket potatoes and hot meals such as a Sunday roast with all the trimmings and favourites including fish and chips, cottage pie and a hearty casserole.
There is also an array of snacks and refreshments available throughout the day for residents and their loved ones if they get a bit peckish.
