Cedar Court is located in the picturesque coastal town of Seaham in County Durham. It lies at the heart of the local community, in close proximity to the local medical centre and a variety of shops. It is well-connected to neighbouring towns and villages by bus.
Our experienced and qualified nursing staff provide 24 hour care and are supported by a team of care assistants selected for their skills and experience.
We always welcome visits from friends and family and look for relatives to be as involved as they want to be in events and activities that we run throughout the year.
Leisure and social activities form a central part of people’s happiness, health and wellbeing, which is why we offer a range of activities that people can choose to be involved in. These include chair-based exercise sessions, bingo, dominoes, word games, singing for the brain which is run by the Alzheimer’s society, reminiscence sessions and beauty treatments. In addition, people are encouraged to make their own requests of activities they would enjoy.
Moving into care, whether it's permanent or even short stay care, is often a difficult decision. Our aim, through our person-centred approach, is to make this transition as easy as possible.
At Cedar Court, we understand each individual arrives with their own specific needs and identities. Our aim to understand these at a deep level to ensure all aspects of day to day life are comfortable and enjoyable for our residents.
A bespoke plan of care is designed with the help of the individual themselves and their loved ones. This includes finding out everything from their desired care arrangements, to activity preferences, life experiences, dietary requirements and more. A personalised approach is always paramount to every individual resident who lives at Cedar court.
Meal times are an important aspect of care at Cedar Court. Our experienced catering staff prepare a menu of fresh home cooked food every day and we cater for individual likes and dislikes from a cultural, religious or choice perspective.
