Life at our Barbaraville care home
Here, at Sanctuary Care, we have an undeniable passion for enriching lives. We go above and beyond to ensure everyone is happy and fulfilled. We get to know our residents – including what they like and dislike.
Our residents are free to spend their time doing what they enjoy most – and we’re here to support them along the way. However, our dedicated activities coordinators always have something engaging planned, which can include:
- Gentle exercise sessions to help us stay active.
- Reminiscence and sensory activities, which are especially beneficial for residents receiving dementia care.
- Singing along as a group to our favourite songs
- Baking mornings – whether we’re trying new recipes or old favourites!
- Trips out in our minibus – to the lovely beaches and villages across Easter Ross.
- With many of our residents having grown up in Invergordon’s surrounding villages, these visits allow residents with dementia and memory loss to reminisce.

Proudly not-for-profit
We’re proud to be a not-for-profit care provider. What does this mean? All our surplus income goes into making the care we deliver even better. It’s reinvested into our care home, staff and residents.
Our closely-knit team has lots of experience caring for people living with dementia and related conditions. Trained nurse, Lorna has managed the home for eight years, while deputy manager, Steph has been with us for 18 years.
They work closely with Ross-shire’s community nurses who come to the care home to provide nursing support. And they’re here to support the families of our residents too.
