Adefolake – a finalist for national nursing award

Sanctuary Care nurse Adefolake Olatunde is over the moon after it was revealed she is a finalist in the prestigious annual Nursing Times Workforce Awards.
Adefolake Olatunde, who works at Riverlee Residential and Nursing Home, our care home in Greenwich, London, is one of six finalists in the running for the Overseas Nurse of the Year category.
Bursting with pride she said: “It’s just unbelievable, I didn’t expect this, it’s amazing! I’m so grateful to everyone who has supported me – it is such a shock.”
We are all behind you
And her colleagues at Riverlee as equally as excited about her amazing news! Deputy manager Andreea-Olga Baron said: “I smile from ear to ear every time I think about it! When I told her she had been shortlisted we were jumping with joy.
“Seeing her big smile it was precious! I and the team in Riverlee are extremely proud of her achievement and I am so glad to have her on our team.”
Always going above and beyond
Originally from Nigeria, Adefolake was nominated for offering such incredible practical and emotional support to many of Sanctuary Care’s overseas nurses who have come to England to work in our London homes.
She has helped them to settle into a new life, find their way around the capital city and even devoted time on her days off to help them to prepare for exams they need to take to work here.
Adefolake will find out if she has won the title at a ceremony taking place at the beginning of December.
