“We have complete peace of mind” – Peter on care at Riverlee

Meet Peter, who says he and his wife Jan can’t speak highly enough about the “devoted staff” caring for his sister Jean at Riverlee Residential and Nursing Home in Greenwich.

Jean moved to Riverlee from Greenwich and Bexley Hospice, after being originally hospitalised at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Woolwich, London with COPD, a condition which affects the lungs.

“The staff at Riverlee are incredible,” says Peter. “They are so caring, compassionate and loving – I honestly couldn’t fault them, it is a great place to live. They are second to none and are like your family.”

Peter says he feels care homes sometimes get such ‘bad press’, but his experience of Riverlee highlights how good care can be.

“You see some negative things on the news and I can tell you this isn’t the case with Sanctuary Care, and I mean that from the bottom of my heart. This home is second to none – the management team are brilliant, the nurses, carers and staff are excellent – just lovely, caring people.”

Jean, who is receiving palliative care, doesn’t always fancy what’s on the menu, but that doesn’t matter because the home’s catering team will always prepare something special for her.

Peter adds: “The food and the variety is absolutely incredible – it’s really lovely. Looking at the menu I wouldn’t mind eating this at home myself.

“We are very, very happy with the choice we’ve made and have complete peace of mind.”
