On the outskirts of Bridgwater, in the beautiful residential area of Durleigh, The Rosary is a beautifully refurbished Jacobean-style care home in Somerset.
Less than two-miles from Bridgwater, our care home is a short bus ride from shops, eateries, a cinema, arts centre and other attractions.
Our dedicated team provides a range of care and support for our residents, including nursing care, dementia care, palliative care, day care and respite care.
Our stunning care home has been designed with the usual comforts you’d expect such as welcoming lounges, light and airy dining rooms and cosy bedrooms, which provide a warm place for our residents to rest and relax.
However it’s the small personal touches and our friendly team, who care for our residents as if they were members of their own family, which make The Rosary a true home from home.
We welcome visits from family and friends and have an open door policy, so whether loved ones like to pop in for a coffee or relax with one of our beautiful animals, we encourage them to become part of the community within our home.
We hold regular meetings for residents and relatives, enabling our residents and their loved ones to be directly involved in everyday life at The Rosary.
Our stunning care home is set across four smaller and more intimate ‘communities’, all named after the local hills. Nearly all of our 102 spacious bedrooms are en-suite, with telephone and television points.
Bedrooms are tastefully decorated and furnished, although we do encourage our residents to bring personal ornaments, pictures and small items of furniture to make their rooms their own.
We have several welcoming lounges for our residents to use as they wish, whether taking part in activities, catching up with friends and family or simply reading a good book.
Our dining rooms provide a welcoming atmosphere to enjoy delicious home-cooked meals in the company of others.
The sensory gardens are landscaped with raised flower beds for our residents who like to do a spot of light gardening. They include rose gardens, a potting shed and a greenhouse where we grow our own produce.
The pets’ corner is the perfect place for our residents to sit back and relax with our birds and animals, which include chickens, rabbits, guinea pigs and chinchillas.
The Rosary’s features include:
- Spacious en-suite bedrooms, with telephone and television points
- Several lounge areas
- Dining rooms where our residents enjoy home-cooked meals
- Sensory gardens with raised flower beds and rose gardens
- A hairdressing salon
- Pets’ corner
- Wi-Fi enabled throughout the home.
We believe it is important that our residents spend their time as they choose, so have a dedicated activities person to support them to take part in interesting activities, rekindle old past times and try new things.
We have a hairdressing salon and our residents also enjoy being pampered with manicures and hand massages.
Regular activities on offer include everything from baking, light exercise sessions, animal therapy, arts and crafts, bingo, quizzes and live music entertainment.
We also host themed community events throughout the year including charitable fundraisers, summer fetes and Christmas fairs.
Our residents enjoy taking part in regular day trips to garden centres, cider farms, pub lunches and the seafront of Weston-super-Mare.
Our catering team prides themselves on preparing nutritious, seasonal home-cooked meals, along with mouth-watering home-baked cakes for afternoon tea.
Residents help us to shape the menus and our catering team spends time with them to get feedback on the dishes and their likes and dislikes. They are also able to cater for a variety of dietary requirements.
Breakfast includes a wide variety of choice from cereals and toast to a traditional cooked breakfast.
Lunch and dinnertimes see a selection of sandwiches, homemade soups, salads, jacket potatoes and hot meals such as a Sunday roast with all the trimmings and favourites including fish and chips, cottage pie and a hearty casserole.
There is also an array of snacks and refreshments available throughout the day for residents and their loved ones if they get a bit peckish.
We pride ourselves on treating people as individuals, so all our residents have care plans tailored to their individual medical, social and emotional needs. We review care plans on a regular basis and involve family and friends in this process wherever possible.
The range of personal care services we can provide, in partnership with local professionals, include:
- Optical care
- Dental care
- Key worker
Our care team is on-hand 24 hours a day, every day of the year and staff are dedicated to delivering care with kindness.
To ensure we continue to provide the best standards of care and support to our residents, we recruit and train only the best staff.
Whilst they receive a variety of on-going training to ensure their skills remain up-to-date, along with an enhanced DBS check (formerly CRB), it is their dedication to our residents which makes them truly special.
