Sanctuary Care home residents in Basingstoke will dress to impress with homemade hats as they celebrate the Royal Wedding from the comfort of their home.
The team and residents at Basingfield Court Residential Care Home on Huish Lane have been showcasing their artistic flair this week, adding the finishing touches to their handmade hats and fascinators ready for a rather royal celebration in honour of the upcoming nuptials of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
Adding flowers, bright ribbon and sparkles, the fancy accessories will be worn when the residents and team get glammed up to enjoy the wedding from the comfort of their home.
Watching the ceremony on the big screen, the home’s residents will enjoy Pimm’s, Bucks Fizz and tea along with a scrumptious picnic lunch complete with fresh homemade cakes and warm scones.
Speaking about the upcoming celebrations, activities leader Tracy Mercer said: “There has been such a buzz in the home leading up to the Royal Wedding. Our residents can’t wait to get dressed up and enjoy the ceremony on a big screen – it’ll be like we’re actually there!
“So many of our residents have fond memories of celebrating royal weddings, jubilee’s and even the Queen’s Coronation, so we knew we had to do something really special to mark the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.”
