Peter’s monthly respite care breaks are a lifeline
For Peter, having regular monthly respite care breaks at our Heathlands Residential Care Home in Pershore gives his wife Jane the carer’s break she desperately needs to recharge her batteries.
And for Peter, he enjoys his time there so much, he keeps going back.
“I have been going there for over the best part of two years now – the food is excellent – they have an excellent chef,” he said.
The care provided by the team is something Peter also highlights as a reason to keep returning for one-week breaks.
“The staff are excellent, they are very caring and they have been there a long time and don’t keep changing.”

When Peter comes to the home, he enjoys having his own en-suite bedroom, home-cooked food and taking part in activities organised by the team. He also spends time in the home’s gardens, which are excellent for his reduced mobility, as they are surrounded by wheelchair accessible pathways.
He added: “I look forward to coming, and it gives my wife a break to look forward to. One of the team is a qualified hairdresser, so I always get my hair cut too!”
